|Recommended: YesGreat place to live with even better management staff — Neighborhood that is more like living in townhouses than living in apartments well except when you leave through the breezeway . The management is super helpful when you need them, does great community events and posts a useful monthly newsletter. If living nearby 95 at the edge of Hanover and Henrico counties suites what you need then this community is the sought after jewel your looking for.

|Recommended: YesLove living here — I've lived here for going on 4 years. The staff is friendly and helpful and maintenance is responsive. Many neighbors and myself look to this as Home , not just a complex .

We have wonderful neighbors I would recommend a parent s with little children to be on the first floor instead of the second or third, being that the kids do a LOT of stumping on floors throughout the early mornings and mid-day..

|Recommended: YesNice, peaceful neighborhood — I've lived in multiple apartment complexes over the last 8 years. This is the only one I've been compelled to stay in after the first year. I'm going into my second renewal this summer. The staff, both maintenance and office, has always been very helpful and I've never had any issues. The buildings are well insulated and I've never even really had to run the heat in the winter in my 2nd floor apartment and it stays around 68 degrees all winter. I highly recommend Charter Creek.

|Recommended: YesGreat Property Great People, Too many maintenance inspection visits — Overall, this has been a great place to live. The management and people living around us have been great. The only thing that has ever caused an issue is the amount of maintenance inspections we have had to prepare for. Pest control, filter changes, smoke detector checks, sprinkler head checks, sprinkler head cleaning. This year alone has 4 Filter Smoke Detector and 3 Pest Control visits scheduled and 1 Sprinkler Inspection as well as the window replacement.
During a filter check, located at the front door, the person walked in on my wife while she was sleeping in the bedroom. When she complained, she was told that they do a walk through to do a spot check on the whole apartment.
We have a lot of belongings that we keep for when we can move back into a house. They are stacked in corners where we can fit them and floor to ceiling in closets. It seems like two to three times a year we have to pull it all out and clog up the rest of the apartment so access is available for the sprinkler inspections. We spent an entire night doing this and took a day off work to have windows replaced only to find out that we were overlooked. Rather than come next in line, we were put last in line. A short while later after leaving everything out, we were told it was, understandably, delayed due to the virus. Now it all goes back and we will have to spend another night pulling it all out again.

Thank you for taking the time to create a review for our community - we are so glad that your overall experience has been a positive one. And we agree, multiple inspections can begin to wear on both residents and management! Unfortunately, many of these inspections are required by law and difficult for us, as the management company, to control - as is the case with sprinkler and lender inspections. Some inspections are preventive in nature and designed to keep the community and residents safe - pest control and filter/smoke detector inspections. And we are ALL struggling with interior upgrade projects (like window replacement) that had to be delayed due to the pandemic. We appreciate your comments and will try our best to minimize the disruption to our residents during these inspections. And we certainly apologize for disturbing your wife and will remind our team to be more careful during future visits. Thank you again for your review and for calling Charter Creek home!
|Recommended: YesWe chose to move here over all apartment complexes — A couple of years ago we chose to move here when we decided to move from Midlothian, VA. As soon as we saw the neighborhood and the property we knew we had found our new home. The staff is so friendly and helpful. As the years have gone by there have been a lot of improvements such as new siding and patio reinforcement, new paved parking lots, pet area, playground and picnic area and more recently the new storage units. While we do not use all of these amenities, we see that the managers care about us and keeping up the property. We love the fresh air here and the slower pace over the hustle and bustle so it's a nice respite from work. The only things I would change are better bathroom ventilation to keep my neighbor's cigarette smoke smelling up our bathroom while they are in there. Sometimes it's intolerable because we have allergies and do not smoke. Second, the lent vents are blowing in the stairwells so it flies around and accumulates. Overall, this is a great place to live and we have been very happy here.
